SF GOES APESHIT 2005!

So after weeks of delay, Flight 2 finally debuts at my hometown's very own comic con Alternative Press Expo. The crowd cheers. It's pretty simple, really. Lots more things happened and I met a lot more people but these are the only photos I got, so a photo-based report will have to suffice. Next time I'll do better.

We joined with Gallery Nucleus to create a superbooth, the roomiest and most
comfortable I've ever done out of 3 years of conning. I swear. Lookit all that crap!

Not to be upstaged, Nucleus rolls out the pretties. Ben's fannypack makes
a cameo appearance in the upper right hand corner. Bam.

Everybody loves James Jean (who was at the con and I missed by the way. This is me weeping gently).

Yeeeeep. More tablin'!

Look! People! Bill and Patrick, west coast boys after my own heart.

Derek Kirk Kimmy-Koo-Koo and Gene converting Neil to the world of Shiga. Shiga pretends not to exist.

I swear, I take one of these photos every 3 months. Enrico and Ronnie just need to stop living
so damn close to me. Or being so ambitious. Or famous. Or talented.

At some point Amy was adorable. We talked about science and stuff. It was coo'.

End of day 1, time to pack up. Khang takes a moment to sass me.

Whoo, man, comics is hard! Everyone takes a breather back at Kazu's hotel. Like a good asian boy,
Khang breaks out the controllers while Ben appears to pee on the dresser. ...Like a good asian boy.
We are joined by Eric, David (offscreen), and Becky's friends Vanessa and Ronnie.

Khang and galpal Tran play a rousing round of Bubble Bobble. Cartoonists are entranced.
Eric takes the cue to make it "Emotion Time".

Folks gather on the Haight for thai dinner. Becky's sweater totally wins by the way.

The restaurant had a charmingly graffiti'd bathroom. I'm not quite sure why I took this picture,
but I did. What can I say, I like naked!

Six folks make piley in Eric's car. Of course, being skinniest, I took shotgun.

Oooh maan it was soooo roomy up in front.
I should take this moment to credit Johanne, who worked like a pro all weekend.
I don't believe she ever left the booth. Wow. A certain Japanese-American editor says she's
completely overtaken the role of Clio and Kean. Certain editor's initials are "K "and "K".

Pixar friends! Sanjay and Louis Gonzales sweep the con with their illustrative charms.
Neil and Sanjay exchanged secret Indian handshakes then tapped their noses knowingly.
I'd keep an eye out for those scamps if I were you.

Jhonen Vasquez, King of Goths pays a visit and makes the ritual book exchange.
I guess that means we're married now!

Oldboys at dinner. Phil morphs.

Neil goes "p3ace Out wai wai 2005!!!1 XD XD".

Khang and Tran being lovely. I can't make fun of this picture.

Day 3, Pixar Studios! Neil commented the Dash painting looked a lot like Clio's toastboy. It totally does!

Dum dee dum, we're at Pixar....

Amy being cute again. The Pixar cafeteria wasn't half bad by the way.
I shared pineapple pizza with Neil. My tea was crazy though. Let it be known,
bringing your own teabags to Pixar is a good idea.

I'll end this with a picture of Becky being adorable. A good time was had by all.
Good job everyone. Gooooo team!
